TITLE: Computer Lab Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Installs, maintains and repairs extended campus technology

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, maintains and repairs microcomputer equipment and peripherals
Troubleshoots and maintains Audio/Visual systems
Maintains the Student Photo ID system
Creates and removes accounts in the electronic door access system
Maintains an inventory of campus technology equipment, supplies, parts and stock
Processes service tickets for campus-related requests
Escalates issues as needed to White Bridge technology staff
Works with vendors to resolve problems
Assists with planning for design, installation and maintenance of new systems
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Computer, Communication, or Electronic Engineering Technology or other highly related area
At least two years of experience in installation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware, software and network equipment and cable
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of AV and equipment, electronic principles and procedures, and software installation strongly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge of microcomputers and software applications
Reads diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information
Ability to communicate with contractors, faculty, staff and peers

Rate of Pay: $41,632 to $49,958, depending on experience
