This program is intended for individuals with no CNA experience. Individuals who previously held a CNA license will need to refer back to the Washington State Department of Health to determine what steps you may need to take to renew your CNA license. If you currently hold a CNA license outside of the state of WA or held a license outside of the state of WA please also refer back to the Washington State DOH for renewal eligibility. Individuals with prior licensure or out of state licensure will be looked at on a case by case basis. Thank you!"
The targeted start date for all candidates hired into this role, is January 2, 2023.
Earn a paycheck while getting paid training by MultiCare.
The candidate will have a “benefit eligible” position with the appropriate waiting period. (You are being paid during the program.) MultiCare will pay for the C.N.A. education/course.
Qualifications
- No experience needed.
- NAR licensure: An N.A.R. licensure is not required at time of application or hire. MultiCare will cover the cost and work with the candidate/employee to get completed within 2-4 weeks of hire date.
- CPR Card: A C.P.R. card is not needed at time of application/hire. MultiCare will cover the cost and will be done after their hire date.
Note: Candidates with a pending/current C.N.A. license, or completed a C.N.A. training course are not eligible for this program.
NAR PROGRAM Duration
- This program is offered through Tacoma Community College and Bates Technical College. (MultiCare will help determine which school you will attend if/once an offer is made.).
- There are no vacation breaks during this training program.
Attendance
Attendance is vital to the success in the program and as a MultiCare employee. Because this is a paid class time, that time also counts as work time. No more than 2 absences are allowed during the program. Cumulative tardies will also count towards absences. If selected, it is a .8 FTE (32 hours/week). If selected, you will achieve your required 32 hours each week by attending class and scheduled work time on your unit. Failure to meet required FTE and attendance expectations may jeopardize the position in the program and your employment with MultiCare.
*A no-show for class is the equivalent of a no show for work.
- Trainees will typically attend class for 5 hours per day in the evenings, Monday through Thursday with some classes on Fridays. The remaining hours will take place at Good Samaritan. Homework time is not paid.
- If offered a position, the candidate will sign a one year agreement to remain employed with MultiCare in a CNA role.
- Upon successful completion of the program/education MultiCare will cover the candidates first testing for the N.A.C. certification.
- The employee will be given 60 days from completion of the training to pass their NAC test.
Once the C.N.A. test is successfully passed
- The employee will pay and obtain their N.A.C. licensure.
- The shift in which interested in (day or nights) and payrate, hired into, will be updated accordingly.
- At this time, the final C.N.A. positions once the program is completed are:
- 8fte nights or .8fte days, (64hrs a payperiod), 8hr shifts, or could be .9ftes, 12hr shifts
- There are various units at our hospitals available.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous patient care experience preferred
- MultiCare offers are contingent upon COVID-19 vaccination. The only exemptions/accommodations will be for documented medical history or conditions for which COVID immunization is contraindicated or religious/strongly held personal beliefs.
Education/Licenses/Certifications
- Nursing Assistant Registered Licensure obtained within 2 weeks of hire.
- Current CPR Certification preferred. Must obtain within 4 weeks of hire.
