*Clothing Closet Manager (Bilingual)* *Position Purpose: * To serve as an onsite manager of the Hospitality Center Clothing Closet. Primary areas of responsibility are the receipt and organization of donations, assisting guests with clothes and toiletry “shopping,” and working collaboratively with Hospitality Center volunteers to serve guests with dignity and respect. *Reports to: * Executive Director *Hours: *16-19 hours per week (morning hours – approximately 8:30am to 12:30pm) *Starting Pay Rate: *$19/hr *Location: *The Hospitality Center operates within St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (614 Main Street, Racine, WI 53403) *How to Apply: *Send include resume and cover letter describing your relevant experience. The Hospitality Center encourages applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life including women, people of color, and people who identify as LGBTQIA+. *Clothing Closet* * Design and implement process for tracking and acknowledging receipt of clothing and toiletry donations * Process and organize donations in a timely manner, maintaining a safe and attractive environment for guests * Sort out unwanted donations and arrange for recycling * Maintain stock of needed supplies within designated clothing closet budget * Ensure seasonal clothing is rotated into regular circulation and made easily accessible for guests * Track number of guests served *Volunteer Engagement* * Develop collegial relationships with current clothing closet volunteers * Welcome and supervise occasional service teams from the community (schools, youth groups, etc) * Welcome new volunteers on a regular basis, integrating them into the clothing closet team * Oversee Thursday clothing closet days, assigning volunteer duties and ensuring smooth operations and compliance with clothing closet guidelines. *Bilingual Community Engagement* * Create signage in both English and Spanish to assist guests at the Hospitality Center * Be “on call” during work hours to assist with Spanish speaking guests in all areas of the Hospitality Center * Work with executive director to identify ways to incorporate Spanish speaking guests into the Hospitality Center community. * Enforce behavioral guidelines for guests on Hospitality Center/St. Luke’s property in order to provide a safe environment for all and to be good neighbors in our community * Provide appropriate assistance and referrals to guests, answering questions and responding to requests * Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned *SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: * -- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills --Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish -- Eligible for employment in the United States -- Strong verbal skills -- Must be able to lift 25 lbs and regularly move up and down stairs -- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment -- Desire and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds with diverse needs -- Excellent organizational skills -- Ability to work independently and take initiative -- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality when speaking with volunteers, donors, staff, guests, and the public. -- Willingness to work in a faith-based program and a commitment to the work of social justice through a lens of faith -- Commitment to the Hospitality Center’s mission and work -- Crisis Partner Training (provided upon hire) -- First Aid Training (provided upon hire) -- Trauma Informed Care Training (provided upon hire) -- Other relevant training as provided
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
