Job Description:

The technologist will provide information for diagnosis treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments and analyses in all general areas of the medical laboratory including Chemistry, Immunology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Molecular, Surgical Pathology and Cytology.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Determines normal and abnormal components by conducting chemical analyses of blood, serum, urine and tissue samples. Thus providing data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease states. Reports patient reports and alerts medical staff of any critical results. Performs moderate and high complexity testing.

· Ensures operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating, running quality control, performing required instrument studies, completing preventative maintenance requirements’, following manufactures instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for service, evaluating new equipment and techniques.

· Prepares reagents and necessary solutions for all laboratory tests. Set up, clean and maintain laboratory equipment.

· Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

· Provides medical technology information and directions clearly and concisely. Knowledge of laboratory methods and techniques.

· Writes and updates laboratory procedures under supervision as required.

· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

· Prepares reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information. Basic Computer skills necessary, knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.

· Maintains patient confidence and protects the practice by keeping information confidential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
