Job Description
Inver Hills Community College seeks a Nursing Clinical AD Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Inver Hills are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Inver Hills Community College seeks a Nursing Instructor to team teach in an integrated Registered Nursing Program with emphasis on health, healing, and holistic nursing. The Inver Hills Nursing Program is a member of the Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  • Participate in department and college curriculum development.
  • Deliver classroom, web enhanced and/or online course instruction.
  • Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
  • Mentor and advise students.
  • Participate in committee assignments and college wide initiatives.
  • Participate in department accreditation and review.
  • Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.
  • Course assignments include day, evening, and weekend hours; and offsite locations.

Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor degree in nursing


Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse.

Recency Requirement
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing specialty;
  • Teaching experience
  • Recent acute care medical surgical nursing experience or long term care experience
  • Understanding of holistic health and healing principles
  • Higher education teaching experience with diverse student population
  • Experience with learning communities or team teaching
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including web enhanced and online instruction
  • Experience developing and using student centered, active and experiential learning strategies
  • Experience integrating cross cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus wide and classroom learning outcomes
  • Experience with accelerated adult learning

Benefits Info
Salary: Dependent on credit load, salary is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2021-2023 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
