**This position is fully remote. Applicants must reside in the State of Oregon in order to qualify for this position**

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Two (2) years experience in a position of similar responsibility and complexity required.

Experience and/or training with medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding required.

Experience and/or training with computer applications required.

Experience and/or training with delegated health care services preferred.

Service Orientation - Successfully apply knowledge of various resources/models of recovery to assist and care for others.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Confidentiality - Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for authorizations of incoming/outgoing referrals and prior authorization of procedures.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan’s Centralized Referral Center processes the referrals from over 20 of our primary and specialty clinics. Contacting insurance companies, providing necessary documentation and obtaining authorization for our patients at a centralized location helps to expedite the process and get our patients to the services they need.
