Purpose of Job

Provides claims service to members/customers regarding the initial contact on all claims service events. Documents the loss, addresses immediate questions regarding the claims process and assigns the loss to the appropriate diary. Applies knowledge of coverage's to initiate and/or conclude claims as appropriate. Contributes to enterprise business goals through enterprise referrals and relationship building.

Our comprehensive, fully paid training program including class discussions, hands-on training, e-learning modules, and the instructor led guidance will help you support our membership independently.

Our in-office development program provides the training and encouragement you need to build a proactive and independent support style to service our membership.

We are currently seeking dedicated professionals for future opportunities in 2023 who desire a full time schedule.

Training Schedule: Full schedule availability is needed Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:30am - 6:00pm CST

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled.

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

  • Crafts auto and property loss reports, states or verifies coverage as appropriate and initiates the most effective method of damage assessment.

  • Explains the claims process and responds to caller concerns.

  • For sophisticated losses, escalates the loss report to the appropriate area for handling.

  • May adjust and conclude low complexity first party auto physical damage claims.

  • May analyze information to establish validity of claim and settlement value.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Up to 1 year of customer service/sales experience
  • Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.

Preferred Experience:

  • US Military Service or Military Spouse
  • Active Adjuster license
  • Insurance Designation
  • Bachelor’s degree

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The hiring range for this position is: $45,010 - $64,310.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Shift premium: Addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
