Hino assembles medium-duty trucks at its Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant. Its manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia. Hino’s Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies Latin American and Caribbean distributors with genuine Hino service parts.

Position Summary

Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc. the industrial truck division of Toyota is seeking a Chassis ADAS Design Engineer [Contract] for its Headquarters-Detroit facility located in Novi, MI.

• 
  This position has a term of 6 months [contract], with the possibility of direct hire.

Location: Novi, MI

Responsibilities

• Chassis & safety systems including brakes, steering, ADAS and related components
• Perform all design engineering activities to support class 7-8 truck development, including:
  • Develop design from concept to prototype and product launch
  • Market study & benchmarking
  • Product spec. study & performance/weight/cost target setting
  • Lead & manage engineering outsource services incl. CAD design & CAE
  • DVP&R development, evaluation support and collaboration with Test Engineer
• Ensure on time deliverables meet all targets & regulatory requirements, starting at program planning stage, through start of production.
• Use your knowledge & creativity to solve real problems in a growing & rewarding organization
• Report to the Chassis Design Lead, Program Manager and Chief Engineer
• This position will have elements of mechanical, electrical and software engineering.

Minimum Requirements

Strong MS Windows, MS Office (primarily Excel) skill sets; highly computer literate

Strong written & verbal communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills & abstract thinking capability

High level of attention to detail, strong organizational and data management skills

Self-motivated; Ability to work independently under tight deadlines

Certification Requirements: N/A

Previous Experience:

• 0-7 years or more experience in Engineering required
• 0-7 years or more experience using CAD (CATIA V5) desired but not required
• 0-7 years or more in commercial truck industry, heavy equipment, or equivalent experience desired

Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel up to 20%
