Our Surgical Technologists will:

· Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the intraoperative period.

· Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.

· Have knowledge of the procedures performed and anticipate the surgeon's needs, including providing instruments, sutures and supplies.

· Check that instrumentation and equipment are in working order.

· Maintain aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention.

· Maintain and advocate for patient safety.

· Perform other tasks as assigned (checking outdates, stocking, rooms, picking cases, etc.).

· Perform counts according to hospital policy and initiate appropriate procedure for incorrect counts.

· Correctly handle and identify surgical specimens.

· Safely dispose of biohazardous material.

· Actively participate in room turnover between cases.

What you'll bring:

• Passion for Perioperative Services
• 1-2+ Years of Operating Room (OR) experience preferred
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the Association of Surgical Technologists required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
