Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the control system development and implementation to include but not limited to, writing code for program control systems used in audio/video solutions within the commercial, government, educational and residential arena utilizing AV best practices standards, templates and methods. This position will work with design, account managers and clients on presales recommendations and requirements of custom control system design based on the customer's needs. As well as provide high end products/services launching/commissioning customer deliverables timely/efficiently according to project timelines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and construct control system graphic screen layouts based upon engineering designs, build to and customer requirements
  • Participate in process of prototype build-out, testing and release
  • Troubleshoot new and legacy systems, hardware cabling and components
  • Integrate third-party hardware/software solutions when needed
  • Create, execute and revise project plans to meet changing needs.
  • Formulate timelines and control documents for design history file
  • Ensure project documents are complete and stored appropriately
  • Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Interface with external/internal clients and manufacturers/vendors
  • Program, install, test and support control systems, both on-site and remotely, with possible travel outside city/state of local office
  • Deliver projects assigned including communication management, schedule management, source control, and documentation.
  • Regularly reporting on the status of all projects
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of company standards and methodology
  • Assist with the installation of structured cabling to include pulling, terminating and testing cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI and audio cables
  • Assist with the installation of AV control system equipment hardware to include: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, and all presentation systems
  • Sign out and secure inventory and non-inventory consumables per project
  • Identify and solve issues that will impact the project
  • Provide effective communication by supplying daily updates to project team
  • Ensure that project deliverables and milestones are met including close out documentation and punch list items
  • Perform system level diagnostics, trouble shoot and report issues to project team
  • Install software/control system needs of client systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure timely completion and maximum performance
  • Ensure all installations meet the highest quality standards set forth while assuming a professional environment at all times on/off site
  • Perform quality control/check on finished product/projects including testing and presentation training to clients
  • Perform post project walkthrough with client if needed
  • Responsible for returning product(s) to warehouse in the event of RMA/DOA issues
  • Assist in supporting installation technicians with onsite training endeavors
  • Follow all safety guidelines of Data Projections and client requirements.
  • Operations support of integration and service when needed
  • Ensure prompt response to all customers internal/external and company initiated service issues
  • Interface and effective communication with internal/external customers and manufacturers/vendors.
  • Responsible for scheduling/coordinating service calls with customers
  • Perform service calls as needed
  • Schedule maintenance visits
  • Assign and maintaining service calendar of service jobs for service technicians
  • Troubleshoot over the phone with customers to determine level of service required
  • Open, update, and close RMA’s in GP to include processing credit card payment
  • Responsible for signing out and securing inventory and non-inventory consumables per service call requirements
  • Identify and solve issues that will impact the service call
  • Provide effective communication by supplying daily updates to Service Manager, technical staff and account executives
  • Ensure that service deliverables and milestones are met
  • Follow up and schedule remaining items not completed on previous service call
  • Ship and return product from manufacturer in timely fashion
  • Complete punch list items
  • Ensure tickets are processed and closed in a timely fashion
  • Perform system level diagnostics, troubleshoot and service issue by phone and document/communicate accordingly
  • Quality control/check on repaired product including testing
  • Responsible for returning product to RETURNS DEPT that is DOA or requires a credit/re-bill.
  • Escalate service issues to Service Manager/VP Operations/Regional VP in timely fashion when critical success factors cannot be met
  • Follow all safety guidelines of Company and client requirements
  • Other related duties as assigned
