Headquartered in Norwell, MA, our clinical team is made up of highly experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), proficient in using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to change the lives of children and teens with ASD and their families. The role of the ABA Therapist is to provide 1:1 direct services to clients with an Autism Spectrum Disorder in the home, school, or clinical setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The ABA Therapist is responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans under the close ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
General Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is part of an inter-disciplinary team that follow a collaborative treatment model. The COTA provides interventions for children to address ADLs, fine motor, gross motor, and visual-motor skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide center-based direct and indirect occupational therapy services
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients with varied diagnoses and needs
- Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings
- Complete clinical documentation daily and billing
- Report to the OTR/L regarding client needs, progress and plan of care
- Provide consultation and education to Behavior Technicians
- Communicate with parents and other caregivers regularly
- Collaborate regularly with BCBAs and SLPs
- Provide parent and staff trainings
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
- Licensed and registered in the state of MA as a COTA
- Follow MA state and AOTA ethical guidelines
- Interest in working within a collaborative ABA model required
- Experience with working with children with ASD preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working as a COTA in a pediatric setting
- CPR/BLS preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to work between at least 2 locations required (Stoughton, West Bridgewater, Sharon)
- Flexibility to work at least 2 evenings (10 AM to 7 PM)
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to lift children, materials, or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching or crawling
