Surgery provides inpatient and outpatient care to patients undergoing a surgical procedure. Surgical specialties include general/gynecological/urology, robotics, colorectal, orthopedic/spine/neurology, cardiovascular/thoracic, pediatric urology, ear, nose and throat procedures, and podiatry. 6 operating rooms are available from 0700 to 1530 five days per week for normal scheduling. 3 operating rooms are available for procedures scheduled from 1530 to 1900. There are two on-call teams after normal business hours, weekends and holidays. There is a General call team and a Heart call team.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The anesthesia technician functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Provides safe, effective anesthesia related skills as needed by the anesthesia care provider (ASP).
- Responsible to set up invasive lines including the blood warmer and cell saver.
- Provides safe, effective cleaning of all equipment in compliance with established policy and procedure.
- Responsible to stock and maintain medications, supplies and equipment as needed by the anesthesia care provider.
- Provides assistance to the anesthesia care provider during induction of the patient.
- This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting in patient care areas of six (6) months to one (1) year required.
- High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required to be flexible in scheduling.
- CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support - AHA
- ASATT = Certified Anesthesia Tech
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous anesthesia tech experience preferred.
- Cell Saving Certification preferred.
