Job Description: Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) Trainer
Position Summary:
The Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) Trainer would function as a Clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) who would be responsible for training physicians and clinical staff on all current workflows and customizations of their EHR. Training would be primarily in person, "at the elbow" in a live environment.
As a Clinical SME / Cerner EHR Trainer you will leverage your clinical expertise, knowledge, knowledge of provider workflow, practice management, clinical relationships, and overall health care industry experience. You will facilitate clinical discussions with clients around alignment and adoption of technology. This role will allow you to articulate clinical adoption benefits to clients and advise on best practices as well as support reference advocacy activity at client sites. Scope includes giving support for the client training processes by providing solution demonstrations and answering 'best practice' questions. Finally, you will leverage the use of analytics to promote adoption and optimization.
Must be willing to travel without restrictions.
Must pass government security clearance, if applicable to the contract assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintains strong clinical knowledge of healthcare trends, policy, regulatory, and compliance issues
- Targeted at-the elbow support augmented with virtual training support, as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse medical community
- Provide training and workflow adoption support to provider end users in accordance with position-specific clinical and business workflows
- Manage, develop, and engage team members and key stakeholders
- Identify issues or trends and collaborate with peers and other key stakeholders to identify and implement solutions. Communicate areas of concern to management team
- Evaluate performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement
- Evaluate and makes recommendations regarding clinical processes, workflow, and content management
- Collaborate with team and peers to develop best-in-class training programs to prepare high-performing team members to be successful in their roles
- Collaborate with site informatics team (i.e., CMIO, CNIO), Client Project Lead, and Project Management team to identify site-specific training opportunities and objectives and provide training support to address identified opportunities/objectives
- Identifies gaps in work processes and/or system functionality that require continuous education, training, and communication
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs. Use relevant evaluation data to revise and/or recommend changes in instructional objectives and method.
- Coordinate and perform administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training and workflow level coaching programs
- Master EHR application and organizational workflows
- Support the development and/or management of training programs for a variety of audiences
- Evaluate and document clearly defined processes
- Evaluate the efficacy of training and recommend mitigation planning
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training gaps, materials, plans, and instructional aids
- Develops clear and concise documentation and instruction manuals in coordination with Edera graphics team
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree in nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or another related field. May substitute two (2) years of college degree for four plus (4+) years of referenceable, proven, exceptional work history and firsthand experience
- Two plus (2+) years of experience in learning & development, training, or a related field
- Two plus (2+) years of experience providing effective Cerner Electronic Health Record training
- Two plus (2+) years of consulting experience in the healthcare field
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Products: Office 365, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web Applications
Desired/Preferred:
- One plus (1+) year of provider practice experience
- Health/Clinical Informatics, Teaching (w/clinical background)
