Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc, a privately held wood manufacturing company founded in 1995 and located in South Londonderry, VT. We are a B2C direct distributor of fine post and beam buildings including storage sheds, cottages, tiny homes, garages, & woodsheds in need of additional experienced CDL Drivers to join our fleet team that includes several trucks, trailers, and drivers. Flat Bedding.

Drivers transport wooden buildings, in both kit form and/or fully assembled, to the client following all safety and regulatory practices as well as those outlined with the DOT. Building Pre-Cut Kits are large palleted packages that weigh several thousands of lbs. Fully Assembled buildings are completely built and must be maneuvered carefully to the installation site, unloaded, blocked, and leveled in the safest way possible so as not to cause any harm, injury, or damage to the equipment, the product, or the client’s property.

This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to safely lift and maneuver a minimum of 75lbs without issue or concern multiple times a day. They must also have general working mechanic skills to trouble-shoot and fix any on-the-road issues.

Each trip is different with no set routes as road closures and/or road maintenance schedules, construction, and other factors affect direction.

You will be joining the crew that reports to the dispatch office (Logistics Coordinator). Busy time is spring to December with shop work in down-time and between loads.

Paid training includes working alongside another driver.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Daily Truck/Equipment Inspections.
• QC checks on product prior to leaving for delivery.
• Perform Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Truck Inspections, Maintenance and Cleaning, as required and/or instructed.
• Flexible and willing to perform shop and yard duties that may be necessary, as instructed.

Experience & Skill Requirements

• Candidates must have a valid CDL-A or CDL-B license. Those with a CDL-B license must be willing to work towards their CDL-A license.
• Clean driving and safety record.
• Must be experienced in driving Wide Loads.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time while maintaining focus.
• Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs without issue or physical repercussion concerns.
• Multi-task with quick shifts in direction and solid communication and organization skills with little to no supervision.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of all DOT regulations and safety protocols.
• Experience with or the successful capacity to learn how to operate: Moffet, Forklift, Shed Mules, and/or Hydraulic Shed Trailers.
