This position will be responsible for designing drivetrain components and assemblies as well as revisions to existing products, creating layouts, models, and performingtolerance stack-ups to assure proper clearance and fits.

Primary Duties:

• Create 3D models and layouts of components and assemblies
• Must be capable of designing castings, forgings, stampings, and special layouts as needed for customers and suppliers.
• Create drawings, applying the appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as required
• Must be able to design and dimension driveshaft and/or axle components to ANSI and ASME standards.
• Understands design, function and manufacturing of drivetrain components
• Provide self check prints and backup work for projects
• Communicate with the Design teams and the Engineers on projects
• Participate on various Engineering and quality teams.

Requirements:

• Must have a two year degree (Associate) in an engineering related field.
• Proficient in one or more of the following CAD systems: I-deas, Unigraphics (UGNX) or Catia V5 (2D Drafting, 3D Modeling, and Assembly)
• Previous driveshaft and axle design experience a plus.
• Self-motivated individual, capable of performing duties with limited supervision while conforming to tight work completion deadlines.
• Must have good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment with various internal customers and department members.
• Must be willing to work overtime during the week and on weekends when required.
• Must have strong demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Must possess a good mechanical aptitude.
