Job Summary:
The Business Analyst III is responsible for providing diverse analytical and operational support to the Business Operations management team for a local utility company along with the job duties and responsibilities below.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze performance information (product and processes) to create trends, spot weaknesses and make actionable recommendations for improvement;
- Facilitate discussions with the program team, product teams, and product owners to understand the root causes of performance issues;
- Measure the performance of the process to migrate new analytics products to production and the performance of the product enhancement process.;
- Manage O&M budgets and contracts;
o Establish/create new O&M site releases;
o Updates releases as required;
- Verifying Invoices/Route for approval;
- Monitor/track O&M spending per site;
- Collaborate closely with the IT department to support performance reporting and
Analysis;
- Analyze the performance of product operations processes and any third-party services providers, providing actional recommendations to management to support continuous improvement;
- Monitor and document customer utility outage runs and develop reporting the track for program purposes;
- Follow operations strategies, plans, and roadmaps to support operations;
- Communicate and coordinate issues, maintenance work, testing, and triage events with all relevant stakeholders;
- Negotiate planned maintenance and service call contracts;
- As requested by management, support all product operations processes;
- Verifying fuel bills for each site prior to SPO Reporting/Analysis group submits payment;
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration required (formalized certification programs that are directly related to the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of a degree);
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience directly related to the job duties;
- Experience in the electric transmission/distribution utilities industry required (other industry experience that provides a basic understanding of common terminology in the electric utilities industry will be considered);
- Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Understanding of Microsoft PowerBI with either on-the job experience or formalized course work or certification strongly preferred;
- Requires the ability to manage multiple projects and determine priorities;
- Must have a high degree of computer literacy;
Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) and requires occasional travel to off-site work locations
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or construction atmosphere
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel
- Working plant, construction, and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis
- Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds;
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, which permits employee to communicate effectively;
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
- Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
