General PURPOSE


To perform and/or oversee the successful and timely completion of all business office functions as prescribed by internal Business Office Policy and Procedure, within the parameters established by state and federal regulation, and as necessary to achieve the financial and operational goals of the agency. Support an environment that promotes optimal efficiencies, staff retention and superior quality of business office employees.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES


  • Performs and/or oversees the completion of all business office related tasks
  • Manage and enforce compliance by all business office employees with internal control objectives, state and federal regulations, and the Code of Conduct and Business.
  • Review, analyze and interpret financial data to monitor progress toward established goals; identify deterrents to success and implement improvements as necessary to enhance efficiencies and results; facilitate effective problem resolution and development of business office goals and objectives.
  • Promote open communications between internal and external customers and employees to enhance cooperative efforts, improve business office performance and assure consistently positive outcomes; maintain a strong working rapport with critical contacts and liaisons such as Medicaid caseworkers, patient representatives, third party administrator representatives, agency department managers and region/division/corporate personnel.




QUALIFICATIONS


  • Associate degree in accounting, healthcare administration or business management and related experience
  • Supervisory and healthcare/hospice billing experience preferred
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS


  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles and agency reimbursement programs. Collection experience preferred.
  • Must possess computer skills of the types and at a level necessary to accomplish the job
  • Ability to manage diverse billing support procedures and requirements in a timely and effective manner
  • Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
