The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fanbase. UBS Arena at Belmont Park is made for music and built for hockey. New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venueopened in November 2021 and has already welcomed numerous top artists, including Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and more. The venue delivers an unmatched live entertainment experience, including clear sightlines and premier acoustics. UBS Arena achieved carbon neutrality for operations in Fall 2022, which makes it the first arena to do so on the eastern United States seaboard.


About the Role


The Business Analyst will work as part of the Strategy & Analytics team to support the core efforts of developing analyses and predictive analytics to drive business decision making. This position will use a strong base of technical skills to manipulate and visualize various sources of business data. Problem solving and critical thinking will be key success factors for delivering unique and actionable insights from our business data.


While You’re Here, You Will:


  • Partner with various stakeholders across ticketing, premium, sponsorship, and marketing to translate business problems into specific analytical projects that will involve data modeling and conducting quantitative analysis
  • Design and develop internal systems and scripts to acquire data that can be used to enhance and automate the business process
  • Design and supervise historical and predictive analytical models (e.g., renewal probability)
  • Work within our team and cross functionally to identify improvements to current reporting and business processes
  • Ability to communicate results and recommendations effectively across a range of stakeholders


Who You Are:


  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of using Python to build statistical models
  • 1-2 years professional experience in solving business problems using quantitative methods
  • A degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Economics
  • An ability to breakdown problems and conceptualize systematic, sustainable technological solutions according to business requirement
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau preferred
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to translate complex data into accessible business insights
  • Curious self-starter who learns new concepts quickly
