Job Overview:
CBS Mornings is seeking a smart, creative, and enterprising Broadcast Associate to work in the Washington, DC control room and on field assignments. This person will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent newsgathering skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of the newsroom.
This role is responsible for coordinating live copy and remote shots each morning for correspondents. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high profile guests and reporters. The duties also include field producing live shots and helping to collect material for daily packages.
Qualifications:
1 year plus TV news experience
Strong editorial judgement and writing skills
Ability to prepare copy for air and coordinate with correspondents
Understanding of newsgathering and transmission technology
Exercise editorial judgment and pitch late breaking developments
Field produce for correspondents at events throughout Washington
Position Hours:
Monday – Friday, 5AM – 1PM
Full time, in person position
