We are now hiring for Merchandise Buyer. This important position is responsible for developing a financially sound assortment plan & merchandising strategy for the category. The position will work to create a cohesive merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability, while maximizing the customer experience and driving revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for merchandising the stores and supporting REEDS.com site to deliver an excellent customer experience resulting in improved conversion rates.

• Develop, curate, and manage assortments through strategic vendor partnerships focusing on white space, growth areas, key initiatives, and trends.

• Manage and analyze individual store product assortments.
• Maintain vendor relationships to include key item selections, negotiating vendor contracts, payment terms and product costs.
• Analyze sales to effectively manage the business, identifying trends, maximizing strong sellers and developing effective exit strategies for underperforming products.
• Remain current with market and industry trends.
• Adhere to and manage open to buy budgets.
• Protect the integrity of the category’s gross margins.
• Act as the liaison between merchandising, marketing, and the e-commerce teams to support product and promotional needs.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce Team on new product set up including categorization, attribution, product copy, and images.
• Consistently look for opportunity to improve in store product display through signage and display elements to support the storytelling of the various programs.
• Monitor and follow-up on setting and maintaining vendor files.
• Complete reports, documentation and presentations in an accurate and timely manner.
• Prepare for and participate in vendor meetings to articulate product strategies and initiatives and develop and source the products to support those initiatives.
• Work closely with the Customer Experience Team and Special Orders in troubleshooting customer issues or special product needs.
• Continuously monitor the quality of merchandise to ensure merchandise exceeds customer expectations.
• Conduct business affairs in a legal and ethical manner, building a socially conscious environment.

This opportunity is located in our corporate headquarters in the beautiful coastal city of Wilmington, NC. The timing of relocation may be flexible. The position requires a minimum of two days in the office and the balance is work from home. Our team adheres to all safety and security guidelines.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Four-year degree required
• Microsoft Office and Google Analytics proficient
• Recommended 5+ years of experience in merchandising
• Exceptional and proven written, verbal, negotiating and communication skills
• Must be organized and able to work as a team associate
• Successful completion of GIA Diamond Grading course within first year of employment
• Essential Physical Requirements
• Flexible Schedule – able to work an average of 45 hours per week
• Manual dexterity of both hands 100% of the time
• Vision and hearing necessary to perform required tasks
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to travel as needed
