First Children Services - Part-Time Behavioral Program Specialist Opportunities
Our Specialists work directly with children and families through the department of system of care (DCF). Popular hours of services are Monday-Friday after 3p and weekends. In this role you will assist with addressing topics such as: behavioral challenges, anger management, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, increasing socialization, communication, interpersonal relationships and familial issues, or activities of daily living. Services lines include BA & ISS through The Children's System of Care. The specialist must demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment. They should be self-driven, creative, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Additionally, the specialist must be willing to accept varied job assignments, including on-site and off-site training, toileting, feeding, etc.
The Behavioral Program Specialist will:

Provide individualized in home and community supports to youth with mental health diagnoses and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities who may be struggling with behavior, social, and activities of daily living difficulties

- When applicable, take data on all programs, entering the data in the online data management system.

- Implement positive behavior support strategies;
-
- Provide general custodial care including feeding, personal hygiene and other primary care needs, when applicable;

- Complete Progress notes for each session visit;
-
- Ability to recognize, manage, and implement crisis plans for any unanticipated events or unstable situations;
-
- Ensure the accurate implementation of the Individual Support Plan;

- Ensure that care is provided according to all relevant policies, procedures and

provide direct service to youth in the home and community of the youth.

- implement behavioral interventions

- carry out individualized services plans developed by the supervisor assigned to the case.

- provide authorized service hours as determined by the referring agency.
Regulations:
-
Make recommendations for changes and improvements to the program, as required;
-
- Discuss any concerns with the supervisor in a timely manner;
-
- maintain contact with the referring agency.

- attend required supervision to comply with Medicaid standards.

- attend Child/Family meetings as required by the referring agency.
-
- attend staff meetings and training as required.

- obtain and/or maintain BA Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).

- demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Electronic Health Record.
Requirements include:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, learning disabilities, social work, or related field.

- Valid driver's license in good standing.
-
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
