Full Time and Part Time Behavioral Health Nurse

As an Behavioral Health RN, you will:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise the nursing care of patients within assigned area, including point of care testing
• Assess and monitor patients daily functioning and assist in symptom management
• Track and communicate pertinent medical information both verbally and through written documentation
• Conduct physical assessments and evaluate medical history
• Develop, implement, ass effectiveness, and modify Nursing Care Plan
• Engage in crisis interventions and de-escalation efforts with patients as needed
• Complete daily client assessments and additional assessments as needed
• Provide clear and complete patient documentation
• Administer medications in alignment with Medical Management policy
• Consult and collaborate with multi-disciplinary treatment team on patient treatment progress and next steps
• Promote safety of our patients, including safety pre-screens, contraband searches, safety rounding throughout unit, and safety checks
• Assist with quality initiatives and monitoring
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with Associates degree
• State of Illinois RN License
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• BLS or CPR certification
• One year's experience in pediatric care or behavioral health specialty
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve and make safe judgement calls in stressful situations
• Excellent Communication skills
• Oriented and educated in gender, culture, and age-appropriate mental health care
• Ability to multitask and communicate professionally both verbally and in written form
