The Behavior Technician first and foremost ensures that all supervision requirements are met for their clients, in accordance with each individual Risk Management Plan and Assessment. They assist clients with their daily routines, implement individual program plans, document client progress, and respond to meet service needs, while ensuring the safety and well being of the clients. Must be willing to cook, do moderate housekeeping, drive clients to various locations in company vehicle, document activities, follow behavior support plans, and implement therapeutic intervention as required. The Behavior Technician I should be an experienced Direct Support Professional (2+ years) working with challenging behaviors, preferably in a corporate group home setting; relevant education can substitute (see qualifications below). Knowledge of behavior support plans, redirection, and de-escalation techniques essential. Additionally, within the first 6 months, the Behavior Technician will be paid to complete:

• A minimum of 4 hours of training in functional assessment

• 20 hours of instruction in the understanding of the function of behavior

• 10 hours of instruction on design of positive practices behavioral support strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• An associate's degree in a social service discipline OR two (2) years' experience serving people in a Direct Support Professional role exhibiting challenging behaviors required
• Eligible to pass a criminal background check as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Department of Human Services
