The Company
Araujo Restaurant Group was created by Chef Melissa Araujo in 2017. It is a small, independent restaurant group located in New Orleans that specializes in on off food concepts where the focus is on fresh ingredients, delicious authentic food and beverage options, and superior customer service. We aim to provide warm, friendly environments to our staff and guests in the neighborhoods we inhabit.
Position Summary
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic Bartender to provide an excellent drinking experience for our guests. A good bartender is able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding guests’ needs and expectations. You will answer customer questions, assist them with their choices based on preferences, take their drink orders, and prepare their drinks to order. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude who has excellent communication skills and enjoys the art of mixology.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Take beverage orders from guests and waitstaff and serve drinks as requested
- Mix drinks using extensive range of ingredients ensuring they are made according to company recipes or guests’ specifications
- Verify photo ID for age requirement as required by law for all bar patrons ordering alcoholic beverages
- Monitor bar patrons to ensure appropriate levels for alcoholic intake
- Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons
- Ensure bar area is clean, safe, and organized
- Maintain a well-stocked bar with adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and all other bar accessories
- Organize bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Ensure supply orders are submitted timely for all liquor, beer, wine, etc…
- Slice, pit, and prepare fruit for garnish
- Juice fruit for fresh fruit beverages
- During and after your shift, ensure all trash is taken out to the trash are and all boxes are broken down flat for disposal
- Answer the business phone, provide information when requested, transfer calls when required
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
· High School Diploma or GED
· At least 1 year of bartending experience
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
· Working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems helpful
· Mixologist certification from a reputable bartending school preferred

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to constantly feel, grasp, hear, practice safe eye/hand/foot coordination, reach for items, repeat certain job-related motions, stand, talk, and walk. The employee is frequently required to lift, carry, and handle items and must be able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Occasionally, this position requires the employee to position oneself to access items that may be underneath bars or tables or stored in closets and/or on shelves. The employee is rarely required to crouch, crawl, climb, or sit.
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high with certain restaurant equipment causing temporary vibration. The temperature in the restaurant fluctuates based on activity and need. Work areas may be wet at times in association with normal restaurant and kitchen activities.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
