Black Seed Bagels is a fast growing, wood-fired bagel bakery with seven locations in Downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. Black Seed’s artisanal product has been featured on the Food Network, the Travel Channel, Good Day NY, and in such publications as the New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out, The Village Voice and more.
We are currently looking for hard-working, enthusiastic, self-starter BAKERS for our growing business. This position is full time with lots of room for growth and would be based out of one of our Brooklyn locations. Shifts are early mornings, some starting anywhere from 3am-6am and an overnight position starting at 10pm. Applicants should be kind and team-oriented, and show an interest in food that is fresh, thoughtful and artisanal.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare bagel toppings
- Making and proofing of dough
- Stretch and hand roll bagels
- Cooking in wood fired oven
- Fulfillment of orders
- Cleaning of baking area
- Ensuring bagels are of the highest quality
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a 1+ year of relevant baking experience
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be punctual, reliable and able to work early mornings and/or nights
- Clean and neat with great attention to detail
- Great communicator
