Authorizations Biller Job at Promise Care NJ
Promise Care NJ is looking for a detailed individual with experience who will be responsible for acquiring authorization for services to be provided in a timely manner.
Applicants with experience in Skilled Home Health Billing/Authorizations Strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Request and follow up with authorization(s) for visits according to patient's insurance plan requirements.
2. Check insurance eligibility bi-monthly.
3. Interact with case managers per authorization requests; i.e., supplying answers to any questions case managers have to facilitate determination of authorizations.
4. Appeal authorizations that were denied according to insurance plan requirements.
5. Responsible for accurate data entry related to authorizations.
6. Ensure accurace of corrections and adjustments of authorizations.
Skills
- Proven experience as authorization/billing specialist
- Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial/insurance information
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and ER software (JDE or other)
- Proficiency in English
- Results-driven, patient, can work independently
- High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
