The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing periodic onsite and remote audits of inspection stations that participate in the Rhode Island Vehicle Inspection Program ("Program"). These responsibilities include collecting and reconciling inspection stickers, and validating the condition and operation of the emissions analyzer, its peripherals, software, and Inspector performance.

This position requires working independently, strong attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data. In addition, the position requires strong communication skills; the Program Auditor will interact with inspection station personnel, Opus management, and, when necessary, the oversight State agencies (DMV/DEM).

Typical activities/responsibilities include:

  • Examining records, reports, and other documents, comparing data to expected results, and assessing where standards/approved procedures are not met or followed.
  • Organizing, documenting, and reporting audit results to State agencies and Opus management.
  • Keeping accurate records/documentation of all results/issues identified during audits.
  • Traveling safely to and from inspection stations to perform audit activities.
  • Ensuring proper condition, security, and maintenance of company vehicle and other company-provided equipment.
  • Supporting other Program staff and activities as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the Program.
Requirements:

Prior Quality Assurance (QA) experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of basic computer operation and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible.
  • Effectively learn/use software applications and reports.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of criminal and civil background checks.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen with satisfactory results.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
