About the Audio Technician (Part-Time) Role:

BRIC seeks Audio Technicians (Part-time) who will establish and ensure that BRIC productions meet industry standard audio excellence for in-person events at BRIC House Ballroom, Stoop, and field productions, on an “as needed” basis.


What You’ll Do in the Role:


The Audio Technician (Part-time) will be responsible for the following in addition to any other projects as assigned by their supervisor.

  • Work collaboratively with Studio Technician and Operations Director to execute audio strategies and best practices for all studio and field productions.
  • Oversee audio workflow for various kinds of shoots including live-to-tape, live-to-air, and music performance capture.
  • Operate audio mixing console and video roll-ins for all captured recordings, which include live broadcast and streamed events produced.
  • Provide post-production sound/music editing, sound design, and final audio mixing as needed.
  • Work with technical team to ensure excellent operating condition of all audio equipment and audio needs related to studio, field, online channels.

You’ll Bring these Skills and Strengths to the Role:

  • A minimum 5 years of experience working in audio for live and recorded studio and field productions.
  • Music recording/mixing experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of audio recording and mixing, microphone selection and placement, relevant hardware and software platforms, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • A strong knowledge of general current technology with the skills to operate a multitude of sounds devices and mixers, both analog and digital.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film and TV, Music Production, or related field.

Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: This is a union position, under a collective bargaining agreement with NABET, and a starting hourly rate of $35.02
  • Status and location: This is a part-time, non-exempt role. Working hours are dependent on events and production schedule. Must be available mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when scheduled. This role may require scheduling for 10+ hour days.
