About the Position

As an Associate Financial Analyst on the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will be involved in various aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and ad-hoc project work. The ideal candidate will utilize their analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data by preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting. The role reports to the Manager of FP&A.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn key financial processes and activities, including budgeting, analytics, business support and general accounting. Includes training on data warehouse and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
• Assist with developing forecasts and preparing supporting analytics and review materials for presentation to business partners and finance leaders
• Provide analytic & data gathering support during the annual budget planning process
• Develop data models & analysis that will be used to provide recommendations for strategic decision making

• Work with FP&A and accounting teams to ensure accuracy of financial statements throughout the month-end close process

Skills / Experience

• Intermediate/advanced user of Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize data in a cohesive manner using formulas and functions
• Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting functions/terminology
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills; ability to time-manage effectively
• Demonstrated ability to summarize complex information from large datasets into quantitatively supported recommendations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners
• Actively promotes a positive team environment and prioritizes self-development and continuous learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
• 0-2 years of work or internship experience
• Experience working with and summarizing large datasets (through work experience or school projects)
• Experience in the retail industry a plus but not required
