DATTCO currently has a full-time Associate Business Analyst opening at our location in New Britain, CT.

Compensation starts at $65,000/year.

This position will contribute to a technical core line of business application team supporting the transactional and financial systems that support our business units. This team works in concert with the divisional business process owners and SME’s to provide technical assistance/guidance in the ongoing process to refine and improve the usage of technical solutions to drive business efficiencies, accuracy of data and continuously improve the resulting value to the business. This position will require a desire to learn about and develop deep expertise across multiple systems including customized off the shelf SaaS subscribed architectures and custom developed industry-specific solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops an ever-increasing knowledge of the applications that support our business from the data that we feed to configure and utilize through to the methods and process of updating data and configuration to meet the business needs
• Assists in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through best practice research and fact-finding, combined with knowledge of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
• Responsible for planning, estimating, and tracking work deliverables.
• Acts as a key resource to capture and maintain documentation of issues, activities and configuration. Key role as change management steward for supported platforms.
• Works to develop communication in concert with IT Leadership and Divisional business leadership to communicate and coordinate change within the organization regarding systems changes, development and process refinements.
• Works with others in the discrete divisions to develop and/or modify processes to resolve business problems by using data focused IT solutions, includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting business requirements and translating business requirements into functional requirements.
• Supports design, build and test planning phases for smaller scope enhancements.
• With direction aids in evaluating technology alternatives by performing requested data collection and/or analysis.
• Applies relevant new information technology products/services to business projects and analysis. Supports users, production activities and training/ business procedural development.
• Beginning to learn SQL skills to create and run queries against data bases to gain information about the source and extent of issues and or needed changes.
• Developing skills to utilize business intelligence tools. Examples include Power BI, Brio, Crystal reporting for ad hoc reporting to assist in analysis.
• Works closely with our front-line support team to help identify and resolve complex issues that are escalated form the Help Desk support team.
• Works with the division business leads and front-line support to help identify training needs across the user base and helps to formulate training objectives/plans to improve systems usage and accuracy.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in IT or business-related field
• 0 to 2 years work experience
• Proven communication and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented
• A strong desire to learn about data lifecycles, data practices, and data management
• Naturally curious self-learner that can utilize vendor documentation and training resources to develop deep understanding of technical solutions and a corresponding ability to troubleshoot issues
• Proven personal computer skills
