Assistant Project Manager Job at Starr Electric Company, Inc.
The Assistant Project Manager reports to the assigned Project Manager and is responsible for supporting the Field activities of the project management team. The Assistant Project Manager shall generally be responsible for assisting with planning, scheduling, assisting with estimating and maintaining documentation on assigned projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work with the Project Manager, Project Superintendent or Management to define the requirements for each project and be responsible for assisting with coordinating field activities to ensure efficient use of company resources and provide quality control oversight of assigned projects. The Assistant Project Manager shall maintain appropriate relationships with client contacts in order to assure their satisfaction with work performed by Starr Electric and to further this work. This requires an individual who is a team player with strong inter-personal and organizational skills, effective attention to detail skills, the ability to problem solve, juggle multiple projects and adjust work accordingly to adapt to tight deadlines. Extensive administrative assistant experience required preferably in the construction or service industry. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information.

Education, Experience, and/or Prerequisites Required: :
Bachelors’ or Associates degree in construction management, engineering, business administration or business management, four (4) year electrical apprenticeship graduate, or five (5) years of field related experience in the commercial/industrial electrical industry preferred.

- Monitor work practices and ensure standards for production and quality of company projects are being met.
- Coordinate the material requirements of the site projects with appropriate authorities. Ensure that all materials are being provided in a timely manner that meets the requirements of the clients.
- Provide estimates for projects and change orders as required to meet company schedules.
- Assist in the planning, organizing, and scheduling of activities relating to Management of projects including budgeting, control of purchasing, profit projection, change order processing, scheduling with field and customer personnel, and document control.
- Assist with creation and production of project proposal books and project presentation information for project interviews.
- Assist Project Managers in the provision of estimates, for projects and change orders, as required to meet company schedules.
- Responsible for development of project specific Pre-Qualification materials and responses for customers.
- Attend job-planning meetings, and job progress meetings, as required
- Responsible for the records, maintenance, and disposition of employee training programs.
- Maintains positive relationships with others in the organization by instilling an upbeat work climate.
- Travel to jobsites and other SEC offices or other locations to perform functions.
- May be assigned to work fulltime on a jobsite
- Supports and administers Office Administrative functions, as directed by appropriate authorities.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize project management software.
