FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to teach online and in-person courses for the A. S. Health Sciences degree, as well as courses such as Foundations of Health and Wellness (HPE 1200), Basic Life Support & First Aid (HE 2200), Health Care in the U.S. (COH 1500), Health and Nutrition (HE 4200) and Women's Health (HE 3800). The successful candidate must have knowledge of current health services trends and healthcare workforce training as well as the ability to design and conduct scholarly research in health sciences or other health-related discipline.
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Health Sciences or similar health-related discipline at the time of appointment with a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the college level;
Experience with coordinating and delivering online and in-person training for Basic Life Support (BLS) courses, specifically covering First Aid and Safety and CPR certifications. BLS certified by American Red Cross and or American Heart Association
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
COMPENSATION
$70,238 - $79,188
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
