Brief Job Description
Buffalo State, State University of New York (SUNY), invites applications for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor in Political Science and Public Administration beginning September 1 2023. Assistant Professors should be able to teach MPA core courses (organizational behavior/theory, public administration theory and undergraduate courses in public administration and policy).
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related fields. ABDs near completion will be considered. Candidates need to show the capability to teach three (3) courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, as assigned by the department, maintain a consistent record of high-quality academic research and publication, provide service to the department and the profession, and contribute to the intellectual life of the department. The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and, in their application, speak to their ability to teach and collaborate with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to teach graduate and undergraduate statistics, the ability to teach courses in emergency and disaster management, teaching experience in higher education, research experience in higher education, and/or working in a government office or non-profit agency.
