Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social emotional well-being of our students and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their SEL growth. We do not give up on kids. Our expectation is that all of our students thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. What is the Assistant Out of School Time Coordinator role?
The Assistant Out of School Time Coordinator is a valued member of the Out of School Time team and After School Program at the Neighborhood House Charter School. Under the direction of the OST Coordinator the Assistant Coordinator provides day-to-day operations for our program, including planning, coordination, and supervision of the program to ensure that both families and students receive quality services. If you are a team player who enjoys taking the initiative, loves to be creative, passionate about working with children and their families and looking to expand your leadership experience, we are excited to receive your application.

This position is at our Queen St. campus and hours are 10:30 - 6:30 p.m. Monday- Friday. This is a full-time, 10-month, school year only position. The salary range for this position is $20-24 an hour, including full benefits.

Requirements
  • High school diploma required; some college experience preferred
  • At least one year’s experience working with youth in an educational or camp setting
  • Experience supervising a team and/or providing leadership in a program, team or project
  • Ability to model and demonstrate behaviors that foster a caring, respectful, and responsible community;
  • Admin and billing experience preferred
  • Active CPR and First-aid certification (or ability to be certified within 30 days of employment
Is this You?
  • You have a high school diploma and at least one year’s experience working with children in a a child care, educational or camp setting; tutoring & coaching experience is acceptable;
  • You have experience supervising a team and/or providing leadership in a program, team or project;
  • You are CPR certified (or can be within 30 days of hire);
  • You are committed to cultivating anti-racist, culturally responsive and restorative practices;
