Title - Assistant Equipment Manager

Reports to - Golf Course Superintendent

The Assistant Equipment Manager works under the supervision of the Equipment Manager to help oversee the maintenance program of the Golf Course and Landscape Department’s equipment fleet. This program includes the repair of malfunctioning equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies required for equipment service. - https://siloridge.com/

Key Responsibilities

• Function effectively in a team oriented environment
• Communicates with the Equipment Manager on any needs or challenges related to the maintenance or repair of equipment.
• Assists with the inspection, diagnosis, adjustment and repairs or any mechanical issues on various pieces of equipment on a routine basis.
• Works with the Equipment Manager to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance practices
• Repairs and adjusts cutting units on a wide variety of mowing equipment
• Helps to maintain records for equipment and parts, inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventative maintenance for all equipment.
• Checks equipment for performance on the golf course, makes in the field repairs to equipment, and services equipment prior to use.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment including tools, equipment supplies and building areas
• Assist in training equipment operators with safe and efficient use, fueling and cleaning of equipment.
• When required assists with the daily tasks of the Golf Course and Landscape teams.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds and preform all the physical aspects the job entails

Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year certificate from college or technical school or 3-6 months related experience or training
• Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive machinery, two stroke engines and hydraulics.
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Bi-Lingual (English & Spanish) is desired

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• An understanding of the game of golf or “golf IQ” is an asset.
