The goal of the PACT program is to foster a positive, educational experience by working collaboratively with each student in developing and implementing an individualized plan for success. The Assistant Director of the PACT program will provide a variety of highly integrated services and programs to support academic success, student development, college transition, leadership and career development, in addition to managing a team of PACT Counselors.

The Assistant Director will provide a variety of highly integrated services and programs to support academic success, career development and personal growth resulting in a positive college experience.

The Assistant Director serves as the student’s partner in a success driven, educational journey from admissions to graduation, and beyond. The Assistant Director will also work collaboratively with College faculty, staff and appropriate external organizations that directly enhance the student’s experience.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of three years of appropriately related experience required. Experience in student services and advisement will be given preference.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret career assessment instruments preferred.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal and administrative skills with the ability to work with a team of diverse professional staff and students.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, ability to assess needs, plan, and implement new programs.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and cross-area collaboration skills are required.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications, web development, and knowledge of student database systems required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Banner and major program requirements required.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Physical/Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies

Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy College Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the College.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy College and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy College, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
