General Description
Summit Construction & Development LLC is looking for an Asphalt Superintendent. Summit offers a competitive salary, full benefits package to include company paid life insurance and matching 401K. We are for a limited amount of time offering a $1000 sign on bonus.* The superintendent is responsible for running all projects for the Asphalt Paving Division of Summit Construction and Development (SCD).
Qualifications

• At least high school/GED; University/College Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Ownership mentality: assumes responsibility and makes decisions in a timely manner, sometimes under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Ability to drive performance excellence while building a positive team environment.
• Organizational skills: must be flexible and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills - must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions.
• Basic knowledge of compliance.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety.
• Able to communicate clearly and efficiently.
• Positive Customer Service attitude.
• Proficiency with basic PC hardware and software, including MS Word and MS Excel preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.

Work Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of previous construction management experience (preferably within asphalt).
• Residential, commercial, and government (DOT) experience preferred.
• Managerial experience on how to grow a business.
• Experience in asphalt estimating.
• Experience in project management.
• Experience managing to budgets.

Responsibilities

• Create a clear division strategy focused on continued growth and operational efficiency.
• Directly manage work crews, and other staff to ensure efficient operations, policies and procedures, work and safety standards, and schedules.
• Coordinate all asphalt paving jobs with customers and maintain daily and monthly calendars of work to ensure timely completion of work through the Scheduling department.
• Calculate the number of trucks required to haul asphalt from the hot plant according to vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from work site, and productivity of drivers in coordination with Hauling Division Director.
• Maintain time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
• Maintain a high regard for safety for employees and general public.
• Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with customers.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of materials through Project Managers.
• Understand all areas of asphalt paving, including dirt work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, handwork and compaction.
• Maintain a positive, team-player attitude.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
