Western Engineering uses two stationary asphalt plants one located in Council Bluffs, and the other located in Fort Calhoun Nebraska and has two portable asphalt plants for mobile operations. Position Overview:
We are looking for an individual that would be a strong leader for an asphalt laydown crew. We are searching for someone who is hard working and very safety conscious. We would prefer this individual to have mechanical capabilities and be willing to work flexible hours as schedule demands. Some night work could be possible as per contract requirements. Most of our work is located in or around Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area, however some travel may be required. In this position you will be responsible for managing your crew, hiring new crew members when needed, turning in crew hours, and project quantities, teaching new crew members, perform quality workmanship, and be responsible for the upkeep on your equipment. We would prefer someone with experience in the asphalt industry.

Requirements:

• 
  Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving history
• Must be committed to providing-and promoting a safe work environment.
• Must have the ability to work in a high pressure, high stress, and a multi-tasking environment.
• Manage administrative duties in a timely manner, be self-motivated and work independently at times.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Would prefer to have some knowledge of Iowa and Nebraska contract specifications.
• Some travel is required, usually stay within 100-mile radius from Omaha in both Iowa and Nebraska.
• Would prefer an individual with at least 2 years of asphalt laydown foreman experience of some type.
