We are looking to hire fun painting instructors to lead group "painting parties" in the SF Bay Area, primarily on weekday afternoons and weekends. Our engagements are intimate (typically 10-20 guests), and our customers are friendly and respectful. You'll have fun sharing your passion for art, while also developing interpersonal skills and meeting different people!

SCHEDULE: You can set your own schedule and take on as many events as you'd like. We host these private events at the request of customers, so this is a gig-based job and events will vary in timing, frequency, and location. That said, most instructors average 1-2 events per week, and you can opt into whatever fits into your schedule!

This is a great side hustle that’s easy to balance with other part-time jobs, freelancing, or school.

IN-PERSON COMPENSATION: $112 per standard 2 hour event (onsite time is 2.5 hours, so pay is $45 per hour. Can vary between $45-$55 per hour when considering tips/bonuses!), and up to 55 cents per mile driven. Hourly rate is $29/hour for more than 2.5 hours spent onsite. Tolls and parking are reimbursed. Any tips earned as yours to keep.

VIRTUAL EVENT COMPENSATION: $38 per standard 1.5 hour event, which is $25 per hour. Any tips earned as yours to keep, and you're eligible for bonuses based on performance.

ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENTS:
- Need a car, in order to drive to events
- Be reliable and responsive. You MUST be punctual and able to manage your assignments
- Strong internet connection if doing virtual events too
- Have at least 2 weekdays free between Tuesday and Friday from 1-7 PM, as well as occasional weekends

IDEAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be reliable and responsive. It’s a repeat of what’s above, but it’s important that we can trust our instructors to be on time and prepared!
- Outgoing and charismatic; be able to engage people both individually and as a group
- Be able to read, understand, and address people’s needs
- Proficient with using acrylic paints. Preferably a Fine Arts student, but self taught is also accepted
- Great communicator in English. Must be able to break down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps for beginners
- Patient and calm in stressful situations (e.g. guests being loud or not paying attention)

MANDATORY INTERVIEW PROCESS:
1. Intro phone call/info session for 20-30 minutes
2. Observe a virtual paint party that we’ve hosted and see what it’s like, and read through our instruction guide for leading parties (1 hour).
3. Meet for a 1:1 painting session over Zoom, where you’ll teach us how to paint an image as if we’re a total beginner (1 hour)
