The Application Support Administrator will be responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across a business. The role combines both business skills and technical IT knowledge with an ability to manage multiple high-level tasks under pressure.
Troubleshoots and provides root cause analysis of common application issues to proactively identify potential problems. Point of contact for performance trending and general understanding of Applications. Possessing specialist knowledge of operating systems, devices, applications, and software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Responsible for troubleshooting application and process issues. Conducts root cause analysis and proactively identifies potential issues/problems; communicates concerns and solutions to vendor, Developers, and internal clients as appropriate. Providing technical support to teams or individuals within the organization, internal clients and to external clients when required.
  • Managing ticketed query system and ensuring comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date. Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures. Always looking for opportunities to automate areas that can be automated.
  • Tests and evaluates Applications to ensure compatibility with internal Hardware\Software and processes. Tests and coordinates/participates in the deployment of application updates and application changes on all applicable systems.
  • Identify and execute appropriate communication methods to ensure team collaboration and providing technical status of the Application environment to essential IT personnel. Developing reports for teams across the business.
  • Application SME – works closely with power users and IT engineers to coordinate technical elements of an enterprise solution. Is responsible for maintaining a lab for testing and quality assurance activities as well as training new Application Support Administrators.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year college degree in a related field, or equivalent experience required.

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:

  • Possessing specialist knowledge of operating systems, devices, applications and software
  • Ability to perform Application debugging, log generation, analysis, and trending required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex technical publications and documentation required.
  • High level experience with remote support utilities such as PS Tools and PowerShell required.
  • General understanding of Application monitoring.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and systems knowledge
  • Understanding of various Automation platforms (JavaScript, PowerShell, WMI query language) required.
  • Familiarity with virtual technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, VDI) required.
  • Listening ability and patience
  • Familiarization with troubleshooting methodologies preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure preferred
  • Working know of Automation Tools
  • Development experience a plus!

  • Works independently with ICS L3 technical peers to ensure system is appropriately represented across the Firm
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interface with business, operational and IT stakeholders as required for system planning, performance, and maintenance preferred.
