GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cape Cod Community College is seeking a qualified Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Instructor for the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program, located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This Instructor will lead and teach FAA Part 147 GENERAL aviation courses on a regularly scheduled basis for the Department's offerings. This includes providing online, classroom, and laboratory instruction in aviation maintenance subjects and related technologies to a diverse student population enrolled in the High School "Choose Aerospace" Airframe and Powerplant Certificate Programs. The part-time hours are variable depending on student engagement while working remote with either monthly lab sessions Fridays and/or two weeks during summer session to lead and complete in-person lab projects. Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., as needed.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
1. Online, classroom and laboratory instruction of FAA Part 147 aviation general courses.
2. Participate actively in program activities, meetings, and faculty development sessions.
3. Participate in the Department's assessment, development, and implementation of lecture and laboratory curriculum, courses, and programs.
4. Maintain own professional certifications and remain current in aviation maintenance practices and standards.
5. Maintain and submit attendance, grades, student evaluation, and all other required documentation and reports per established procedures.
6. Actively utilize proven student retention techniques approved by the College.
7. Attend in-service training seminars, as required.
8. Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
2. Three years of relevant work experience in an aviation maintenance capacity.
3. Demonstrated presentation skills in the classroom including integration of computer-based aviation software program(s).
4. Commitment to the community college philosophy.
5. Demonstrated evidence of keeping current in the fields of aviation and teaching.
6. Experience with High School Students in a safety sensitive training environment.
7. Ability to maintain control online and in a classroom environment and diffuse difficult situations when necessary.
8. Ability to relate pedagogically to the needs and interests of both college and high school students.
9. Experience with the integration of aviation technology and alternative delivery systems of instruction in the teaching-learning process.
10. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
11. Potential to make significant contributions to curriculum and project development.
12. Ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree or higher in aviation or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
2. Skilled user of PowerPoint, MSWord, and Zoom.
3. Ability to utilize media equipment.
4. Ability to read/interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
5. Strong verbal, written, and teaching skills.
6. Experience, an appreciation for, and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $52.35 per hour, up to 18 hours per week; part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
