Americas Editor, PERE Job at PEI Media
We at PEI Group are looking for a Americas Editor to join our welcoming, diverse and growing team based in New York. The successful candidate will be working with one of our brands PERE. The successful candidate will be a key source of content ideas for the title, in close collaboration with the Editor. They will also be a key voice and visible editorial contact for PERE, both via PERENews.com and PERE magazine as well as PEI Group's conferences and on social media.
Responsibilities include:
- To enhance and maintain PERE’s senior relationships in the global private real estate marketplace.
- To work closely with the PERE editor and Real Estate Group Magazine Editor to determine the overall editorial direction and execution strategy for PERENews.com and PERE magazine.
- To contribute to the editorial agenda for PERENews.com and PERE magazine in collaboration with the PERE editor. To stay on top of key news and events in the market with a view to determining the most important coverage for both formats.
- To commission articles, edit copy, and liaise with the Production team on design matters.
- To determine, pitch, research and write both on and off-diary insight and analysis pieces, as well as, where appropriate pieces for PERE’s Special Projects publications.
- To break exclusive news on events in the global private real estate market.
- To write regular commentaries for PERENews.com and PERE magazine and various special magazines as well maintain frequent commentary on social media channels.
- To contribute to PERE’s weekly Blueprint email newsletter, through idea generation and providing written items.
- To chair and write up thought leadership initiatives, including roundtable discussions.

Requirements
The successful candidate should have the following:
- A built up book of impactful stories, preferably over two or more years of working experience in business journalism.
- Formal journalism education or training is a must.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for proprietary analyses writing and exclusive news reporting in digital and print.
- Experience in social media and multimedia journalism including video, podcast and other online formats is also welcome.
- It would be advantageous to be a keen networker and attend sector events as well as, on occasion, travel for assignments.
- Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.
- Covering real estate would be an advantage but is not essential.

We understand everyone gets sick from time to time. At PEI you will be entitled to 10 days sick annually which will not be deducted from your PTO
