POSITION SUMMARY: The After School Assistant must enjoy working with elementary school aged children (Pre-K – 5th). They are responsible for implementing activities, ensuring safety of all children in the program, serving after school snack, interacting with children and their families, working independently as well as with a team, and creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment. The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervision of the children in the program.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical stamina is required to tolerate standing, stooping, reaching, grasping, kneeling, walking, bending, and lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs. Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Position is in a classroom setting with children.
