The role you’ll contribute:

Provides support to the department by retrieving, documenting, decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments to ensure instruments are available for scheduled and emergency cases. Responsible for patient safety by ensuring surgical instruments are processed according to manufacturer’s guidelines and AAMI standards.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Responsible for the transportation of contaminated and sterile surgical instruments and supplies to and from all OR's and patient care areas to ensure surgical instruments are available for patient use for scheduled and emergency procedures.

• Responsible for patient safety by preventing cross contamination of surgical instruments by decontaminating and inspecting instruments for cleanliness and defects.

• Contributes to department cleanliness, organization, productivity, and safety by keeping all instruments and supplies are kept in designated location.

• Utilizes Censitrac computer program to track instruments, document effective time management/productivity and Q.A. data for department records.

• Accurately inspects and assembles instrument trays according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards to ensure patient safety and customer satisfaction.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School Diploma or equivalent upon hire

• Current Sterile Processing certification required upon hire

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• 3-years Sterile Processing experience - Maintains educational requirements as outlined in the organizational checklists.
