Job Title: Advanced Applications Specialist
Location: Midwest & East coast region

Shift: 1st Shift, Mon - Fri

Travel Requirements: 50% out of town, 30% local

Pay: Based on Experience


Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will be located in the mid-west/east coast region. The Advanced Applications Specialist is responsible for the highest level of technical competency within the scope of any particular product line. Must be an industry expert and provide professional level service to our customers. Will successfully drive product alterations and improvements with great accuracy and industry awareness. Must have thorough knowledgeable of print consumables and the print process as well.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Conducts technical service activities to support the most intricate and complex customers. Includes problem analysis, understanding customer desired outcome, providing on-site support, and coordination of Sun technical resources
  • Manages trial activities related to new business opportunities. Will manage and drive to completion transition plans for complex new business, including coordination with sales, technical service resources, and product management.
  • Will make product selection decisions and conduct research to develop custom products. Coordinates with internal product management to define product recommendations, including guidance that aligns with end use application, required specifications, and customer process. Will be the field contributor for driving product modification and/or adjustment recommendations to the product management teams.
  • Supports sales and defends against customer claims by conducting research to validate customer complaints and assesses product fitness for use.
  • Serves as an expert field technology contributor to the product management group to drive continuous improvement in product offerings and product adjustments as industry needs dictate.
  • Reporting all field activity using internal reporting tool (i.e. technical call reports, trial reports, documentation).
  • Demonstrates ability to lead complex projects with key customers, utilizing a minimum Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and consistent, routine mastery of the application of Kepner Tregoe and other methodologies.

Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • 10+ years industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • This is a customer-facing position that requires the highest degree of interpersonal skill in order to be successful.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Technical Degree (BS) or equivalent level of industry experience.
  • 5+ years of field customer technical service experience.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Routine knowledge and mastery of Kepner Tregoe methodologies.
