Position Summary:
The OccMed Administrator is responsible for overseeing administrative needs of the OccMed Department of CommunityMed. Once trained and working independently, you will perform a wide range of duties to support the Department success.
Who we are Looking For:
- Strong Administrative and Organizational skills – to assist with worker’s comp claim management, follow up/missed appointment reminders, and processing referrals.
- OccMed working background/knowledge preferred but not required.
Location: Corporate office - 5208 Tennyson Pkwy, Plano, TX, 75024
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Pay: $18-23/hr – Depending on experience and quality of interview.
- Note: higher end of range would require prior experience with Worker's Comp and Referral Management
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing incoming referrals and required follow-up.
- Process can take a couple days to several weeks depending on length of treatment
- Currently averaging 7-8 new cases / day and around 50 in-process at any given time
- If a patient is recommended physical therapy, insurance carriers will be contacted to confirm coverage, and provide a list of in-network specialists
- This role will be responsible for:
- Calling insurance companies and talking to claim adjusters
- Following up with patients to confirm they are getting treatment, and following up with treatment facilities to get notes on services provided
- Update patient status reports to medical charts, update our Providers, and confirm the patient(s) appointment for a final evaluation at our clinic.
- Process involves requesting scans/faxes of supporting documentation.
- Frequent use of excel and google calendar for timely follow up.
- Partner with managers and directors to provide support and resources.
- Build relationships with physicians and provider partners.
- Create new client accounts in Experity and create company authorization forms.
- Assist in the successful development and timely opening of new urgent care clinics.
- Attend meetings at the directors’ request and direction and duties as assigned.
Workflow Summary of OccMed Services:
When an individual is injured on the job, an employer will (1) typically give an individual an authorization form, (2) ask the employee to go to a clinic to get evaluated and prescribed a treatment plan and (3) require the individual to follow through treatment plans to continue getting worker’s comp benefits.
- As a partnering Provider, CommunityMed can evaluate individuals who suffer injuries, prescribe a treatment plan, and evaluate them once treatment has been received to assess their ability to return to work.
- This process requires diligent organization and tracking of claim #s, certain forms, and medical records. Requires frequent use of Excel and Google calendar, emails and calls, and following up with business clients, internal corporate and clinic staff, patients, and labs or treatment facilities.
We can also partner with business for pre-employment services such as physicals, vaccinations, and drug & alcohol screens. Admin related work would include:
- Collecting claim #s, giving colleagues access to eScreen, assisting clients/labs with any issues/requests, and other related duties as assigned
