Position Summary

Administrative Assistant III provides a wide range of administrative support to the Provost and its supporting elements. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to calendar management, travel arrangement, preparing requisitions and budget revisions for the division of Academic Affairs. The Administrative Assistant III is the main point of contact for the office of the Provost and is required to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Prepares correspondence (memos, reports, etc.).
  • Must be able to use Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and Ellucian Colleague.
  • Monitor budgets and expenses.
  • Office supply management and general bookkeeping knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate mail logs.
  • Research and compile correspondence and confidential information for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork, all requisitions and forms for employment for the Provost office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent organizational, communication, and social skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word and Excel particular - and have notable skills in processing spreadsheets.
  • Self-starter who completes projects and works to meet job objectives.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain budgets.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five years' experience of high-level administrative support of comparable work-related experience is required.
  • Experience in maintaining budgets is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
