Manage the Activities staff and entertainers in order to provide engaging events that enhance the lives of those who live and work here. Coordinate volunteer program to enable community members as well as in-house residents to volunteer their time and talents at Shalom Park in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Some college preferred, but not mandatory. Must be familiar with healthcare type organizations, functions of departments and duties performed by volunteers. Must be familiar with therapeutic recreation programs and be able to coordinate services with therapeutic recreation personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the Activity department staff including Coordinators, Conversationalist, Music Therapist and contract entertainers
- Coordinates monthly therapeutic recreation calendar of events with team members including regularly scheduled programs, special events, outings, guest speakers
- Coordinates special events related to nursing home residents; collaborates with inter-departmental teams on schedule and entertainment
- Manages a full-lifecycle volunteer program (recruit, process, schedule, orient/train, supervise, evaluate performance, and recognize)
- Coordinates volunteers with departments and acts as a liaison to ensure successful engagement and completion of volunteer services
- Creates, maintains and retains service records for volunteers. Tracks volunteer hours and accomplishments; data is used in writing grants to show level of community involvement, for tax purposes and recognition
- Reviews and responds to complaints and grievances made or filed against the volunteer program
- Maintains good public relations with the community to promote interest in our volunteer program
- Hosts school groups that read, choirs that sing and classes focused on inter-generational connections
- Encourages in-house resident volunteers to participate in helpful activities (i.e., envelope stuffing, napkin folding)
- Coordinates Pay for Performance efforts
- Serve on various committees as appropriate
- Other duties may be assigned
