Summary of Position:
Provides direct care to the residents, following the needs of the residents, treating each resident with dignity and respect, recognizing individual needs and encouraging self-independence. Promoting a warm, homelike atmosphere throughout the residency.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches any craft ideas to be carried out by residents.
- Changes activity board per season, holiday, or informational idea.
- Leads activities on the monthly calendar as created by Life Enrichment Coordinator
- Assists in gathering information for monthly newsletter
- Assists in planning activities for the residents
- Assists with assessing residents activity preferences and interests
- Maintains and inventories activity supplies and equipment
- Informs residents and staff of changes to activities planned.
- Informs head cook if food is needed for an activity.
- Informs all individuals of any changes in planned schedules.
- Follows departmental procedures regarding safety issues.
- Maintains a positive, encouraging attitude with all involved.
- Attend a monthly staff meeting facilitated by Life Enrichment Director
