Position: Accounting Clerk

Location: Montgomery County

SPS Consulting seeks a highly-organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our government customers in the Montgomery County area. Duties may be varied but fall under extensive office and administrative support services.

Responsibilities Include:

Review of department invoices to ensure accuracy, authorization, and adherence to contract terms.

Processing of department invoices using the County's Oracle ERP system.

Prepare and process purchase requisitions, change orders, and purchase orders.

Maintain organized file system (hard copy and/or electronic) in compliance with document retention policies.

Coordinate with the Office of Procurement and Division employees to find solutions to any process or funding
issues.

This position will provide administrative assistance to the Taxicab Regulation Unit.

The individual will work to calculate mileage provided by taxicab drivers and prepare invoices to reimburse taxicab drivers through Montgomery County’s Call-N-Ride program, as well as provide payment to taxicab drivers who participate in the County’s wheelchair accessibility assistance trip program.

This individual will provide customer service via telephone; provide industry-specific information to the drivers; receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and other correspondence; prepare documents; sort and file materials and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the basic Microsoft Office Suite package, with proficiency with both Microsoft Excel and Word programs, is highly desirable.

Basic working knowledge of photocopiers, calculators, telephones, scanners, printers, and other common office equipment; is required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and 1-2 years of experience as an office support
  • Experience with financial activities including the processing of invoices and maintenance of financial data is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent communication skills, trustworthiness and collaboration skills
  • A resourceful and independent worker capable of self-managing their time and tasks
  • Ability to efficiently operate office equipment, including desktop computers, fax machines, copiers, and printers

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
